Palladio™ founder and Master Builder Rich Estes is a true modern day artisan. Raised as an apprentice to his builder/entrepreneur father, Pete Estes of Laurens, South Carolina, Rich could design and build an entire home structure before the age of 18. Rich further broadened his understanding of ergonomics and aesthetics as a pre-med graduate from the University of South Carolina, where he also honed his ethics and leadership skills as a Senator in the School of Public Health. Though invited to Medical School, Estes entrepreneurial spirit drew him instead to the world of finance. Just months after receiving his Series 6 NASD securities license, Rich opened a New York Life office in his hometown of Laurens. While his experience in investment and mortgage banking played a definite role in the making of the PalladioHomes™ business model, it was Estes' re-exposure to his family's homebuilding business that inspired Rich to the highest and best use of his aggregate experience. So the life-long apprentice began his mission as a Master Builder in the eclectic Charleston market. Rich soon sold his interests in his securities firm and joined the Palmetto Traditional Homes team where he supervised the completion and delivery of homes in the Oakbrook Commons project and further served as Area Manager over properties at Wescott, Rivertown, and Daniel Island. Vaulted by his outstanding performance with Palmetto, Estes launched Palladio Homes™ in 2001 and - as evidenced by their unprecedented success - has since set a new standard for excellence in homebuilding. With Rich at the helm, we at Palladio Homes ™ are creating a new paradigm in homebuilding; one centered on quality, innovation, and style.
